Types of Challenges
There are 4 types of challenges available on the HealthyLife platform. Each provides a unique way of engaging with your users, either individually or in teams.
Activity/Steps Challenge
This challenge asks users or teams to track their steps and activities and can include a map on which the user (or their team) is able to see their progress. Steps and activities can be tracked using the Count Steps & Count Activities trackers on the challenge page, by syncing a device to the platform, or by using the Personal Routes map feature.
Weight Loss Challenge
This type of challenge tracks the user’s weight compared to their baseline weight at the start the challenge. Weight loss can be reported as the total amount lost or as a percentage of the total lost. For team challenges there's the additional option to show the average amount of weight loss achieved by all the participants on the team.
Tracker Challenge
Tracker Challenges allow users or teams to earn points for tracking the number of times they perform a behavior, such as how many fruits and vegetables you've consumed or how much water you've had in one day.

Custom Challenge
You can choose from a wide variety of challenges in our catalog. However, if you're looking for something different or more personalized for your group, you can also request a custom challenge. Lead time will vary depending on the extent of the request, but is generally 5 weeks prior to the registration open date. Please contact your program administrator for this request.
Team Challenges vs. Individual Challenges
Challenges can be organized for users to participate individually or as a team. Below are the options available for each format:
Team Challenges
Allow Users to Create a New Team - Participants can create their own teams, including their own team name, and invite others to join.
If you allow participants to create a team, you can choose if the teams are set-up within the main level locale (your company) or a sub locale (only within a specific store or a specific region of your company).
Admin Created Teams - Before a challenge becomes live, you may pre-define the team names, capacities (optional), and even who is in each team (optional).
Team Score Calculations
Team challenges can be calculated in two score formats, totals or averages.
Total Points/Steps - means that the total points/steps for all users on the team count towards the team progress
Average Points/Steps - means that it takes the total number of points/steps then divides that total by the number of users on the team to get the average score. This allows teams of different sizes to compete fairly against each other.
Individual Challenges
Compulsory Individual - If you select "Everyone" this will automatically enroll everyone to participate in your challenge. Once the challenge launches, everyone will be pre-enrolled on the opening date.
